For the 2023-2024 school year Mr. Vey will be teaching Gr. 6

Key Roles: Grade Six Teacher; Coach

I am excited to be teaching grade six again this year at River Valley School. I look forward to continuing to get to know the students, staff, and families of RVS. In the past, I have coached the grade 6 girls volleyball team, grade 6-8 boys basketball teams, grade 5-6 basketball camps, and grade 5-8 chess and checker club.

Before teaching at River Valley, I taught at Blue Hills Community School where I taught grade five, grade six, and kindergarten to grade nine physical education. I am from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and that is where I started my teaching career. I was a substitute teacher in grades kindergarten to grade 6. I graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. 

Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my family. My wife, Rebecca, also teaches at Olds Elementary School. We have three children named Owen, Jordan, and Abigail. Owen attends OES and is in grade five, Jordan is attending grade three this year, and our Abigail is in grade one. I enjoy baseball and basketball. I am an avid Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Raptors, and Edmonton Oilers fan. Go Eagles!
